Most people have heard the tale of the man who created Frankenstein. Very little was known about his next invention – a contraption called Frankenstein’s Funk Machine…until now. Feeling guilty about the destruction his monster caused, he decided to make up for it by creating a machine that could turn up the cool in anyone who stepped inside it. He made the dead rise, and then made the living get down.
We only know this much about the device because it was recently discovered at an estate sale in Inver Grove Heights, and we are thrilled to say it will be available to use at this event. We will be providing ample opportunities to make use of the machine’s powers – we will have DJs setting the grooves on the dance floor. There will be movement lessons and dance classes, which will culminate with a soul train contest. In the spirit of Halloween, we will also have a costume contest and Frankenstein walk contest, with prizes for all ages donated by businesses in the Longfellow neighborhood.
